Wow! Steve has done so much with the Kalakala. She looks so good!!!

The wheel house is all cleaned out and will be done this winter!!! Very exciting. Steve said something about having the stools put up in the Horseshoe Cafe this winter as well.

I only helped for two hours today. Boy was it cold. Next week I’ll go up there with more layers and warm gloves!!!

It was my job to maintain the fire in the two drums to heat up the glue that is used to shrink wrap the windows and I forgot about the glue and it caught on fire and melted away. Steve had to get more glue from his office and the glue is from Boeing and expensive. I felt horrible that I forgot about it. Steve was pretty bummed too. Fail on my part. 😦

I will make it up next week and be more attentive!! Im excited for the winter and seeing parts of the Kalakala finished.

The interior paint is chosen!! I got to help pick the color out of the four that Steve chose. It’s a pretty white with a light hint of gloss to it.

Enjoy the recent pics!!

In one of the pics there’s a tree. It’s the Kalakala tree which was growing from the ferry 13 years ago!
